You guessed it, this is a tutorial by The devon Artist aka Paul Hopkinson, it had to be really didn’t it. I finished this one yesterday morning, Wednesday 25th May 2022 – Two weeks after my first ever watercolour painting attempt. Amazing really when I think about it.

Another one of his paid tutorials but well worth it.

Again I didn’t really think I could do this but if I wanted to proceed on my journey to actually attempt to paint my bengal cat, then I have to, why put it off, again it’s only paint, paper and time, what’s to lose if I make a mess of it.

As they say you learn better from your mistakes and if you don’t try you’ll never know.

So here we go, I am very pleased with my effort, especially the white fur that was the hardest to do, close up I’m not impressed really but from a distance it’s fairly good, my critical self in my ear again.

You would never have thought you’d have these colours as a foundation wash for white fur, but you do. Amazing.
My completed brown and black fur studies before moving onto the final one the white above.

You can see me building the layers up on the black fur.
